New paper on security & cloud computing under the European Legal Framework
We are pleased to announce the publication Mapping the European Legal Framework on Security Requirements for Cloud Computing Infrastructures in the Healthcare Sector.
The paper was authored by Michael Cepic, Mariana Rissetto. In it we outline the different legislation governing security of cloud infrastructures in Europe and how their legislative security approaches might differ.

“Personalized Multi-scale Brain Simulation” Virtual Course

This course provides basic knowledge on personalized brain network modeling. Students will gain theoretical knowledge and subsequently use this knowledge to construct models, process multi-modal imaging data for creating individualized models, run simulations and use supporting neuroinformatics tool such as collaboratories, pipelines, workflows and data repositories.

Virtual Research Environment
First Release
We are happy to announce the first release of the Virtual Research Environment (VRE) 0.1.0. at the Charité & BIH. Find out more about the VRE on the BIH website.
You can watch a video demo of the VRE here. The VRE is now undergoing evaluation by the Berlin State Data Protection Commissioner. Upon approval the VRE will go into operation.

Medical University Charité's 26th Neurokolloquium

The 26th Neurokolloquium will be held on the 15th of February at the Charité Campus Virchow Klinikum. Neurokolloquium is an annual symposium put on by the Charité Clinic and University Outpatient Department for Neurology, during which a variety of lectures and presentations are held on topics from the entire spectrum of work done in the Neurology Department. Themes include therapy, diagnosis, historical content and controversial topics from the field. As part of the day's events, Dr. Petra Ritter will present a guest lecture on The Virtual Brain, covering how brain simulations can aid in better understanding and treatment of neurological illnesses.
Lectures and presentations will be held in German. The event is free for employees and students of the Charité Neurology Department. The fee for external participants is 20€. Please find further details on the program and how to register here.

Building Networks in Epilepsy - 1st workshop
