New paper on effects of Neuregulin-1 on Excitation-Inhibition Balance
Accepted by Cerebral Cortex Journal

We are pleased to announce a new paper coming soon: Brain Network Simulations Indicate Effects of Neuregulin-1 Genotype on Excitation-Inhibition Balance in Cortical Dynamics.

The paper was authored by Pedro Costa Klein, Ulrich Ettinger, Michael Schirner, Petra Ritter, Dan Rujescu, Peter Falkai, Nikolaos Koutsouleris, Lana Kambeitz-Ilankovic, & Joseph Kambeitz.

The paper will soon be published by Cerebral Cortex Journal.

New publication on AI models for predictive diagnostics of dementia

We are pleased to announce a new publication: Differences in cohort study data affect external validation of artificial intelligence models for predictive diagnostics of dementia - lessons for translation into clinical practice.

The paper was authored by Colin Birkenbihl, Mohammad Asif Emon,  Henri Vrooman, Sarah Westwood, Simon Lovestone, on behalf of the AddNeuroMed Consortium, Martin Hofmann-Apitius, Holger Fröhlich & the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative.

Medical University Charité's 26th Neurokolloquium

The 26th Neurokolloquium will be held on the 15th of February at the Charité Campus Virchow Klinikum. Neurokolloquium is an annual symposium put on by the Charité Clinic and University Outpatient Department for Neurology, during which a variety of lectures and presentations are held on topics from the entire spectrum of work done in the Neurology Department. Themes include therapy, diagnosis, historical content and controversial topics from the field. As part of the day's events, Dr. Petra Ritter will present a guest lecture on The Virtual Brain, covering how brain simulations can aid in better understanding and treatment of neurological illnesses.

Lectures and presentations will be held in German. The event is free for employees and students of the Charité Neurology Department. The fee for external participants is 20€. Please find further details on the program and how to register here.

Building Networks in Epilepsy - 1st workshop

Prof. Dr. Ritter will join researchers from both the Charité and King's College London in presenting her research at the 1st of two workshops focussed on interdisciplinary research in the field of epilepsy. In the workshops researchers will develop new ideas to understand and treat epilepsy better, and also to understand the basic workings of the brain.
